Exhibit A gallery in Peoria Heights Illinois is having an exhibit starting Monday August 2 entitled “Sit up Straight”. Ursula is my entry for this exhibit. She will be on display proudly seated on her chair from August 2 – 27.

I started this endeavor by creating the chair from a square cardboard Box and an additional piece of cardboard I shaped for the back of the chair. I like painting chairs as you can tell by the you can tell by the chairs you would find in my art studio. So I thought it would be fun to paint a miniature chair which I’m sure they would have room for at the gallery.
Once I made the chair I knew immediately that I needed a bird that I needed a bird with long legs to sit in the chair. Thinking I had plenty of time I planned on waiting on waiting until Sunday to make the bird… However I found out on Friday that we needed to turn in our entries Today, Saturday. Needless to say last night was a very long night. I created 3 different patterns of birds before I was happy with one. Is that pattern became Ursula!
I hope you enjoy her as much as I enjoyed making her. In fact I plan on making a mate for her Soon.
Enjoy! And as always, Thanks for visiting.
