Artist Sunday

Last year, 2020, covid prevented us from doing many things. As an artist it was extremely difficultAKA impossibleTo find an audience for my art.  Art shows… non existent. Art fairs… non existent. 1st Friday’s? Non existent.

Someone decided it would be a good idea to create Artist Sunday to compliment Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.

THAT was today! It wasn’t a huge Crowd but we did have many people in that wouldn’t have otherwise come. Some of us decided to be open for small business Saturday and artist Sunday. The news got wind of it and sent a camera team! I can’t wait to see the edited version tonight on the 5 o’clock and 10 o’clock news. Did you see it? I think it is also on their website. Is http://www.Ciproud.com

Here’s hoping next year it grows even bigger. For now I had to say goodbye to a few of my favorites…

My Dream . . . My Space . . .

As a kid I used to go to summer camp on a farm, living in the city it was the first exposure I had to rural life, farms and animals. As I recall it encompassed about 265 acres of land (at the time) … and we had an Art Workshop… I loved that place. I can still see it in my mind. BIG art tables in the middle of the room, lined up end to end – maybe 3 or 4? and Tons of supplies in cabinets and on shelves around the perimeter of the room… Those are some of the happiest memories from my childhood.

I had a dream …to create a place like that, which would be FUN to come to…. with lots of art supplies to make anything you want, and a FUN place to create art in. …

Uh-oh… I think I’ve done it! Here are some pictures of my studio. It’s Bright, It’s Colorful, and it is definitely FUN! Truly my home-away-from-home. I do tend to rearrange many times per year, so I will need to post new pictures of the latest re-do, but I’m so glad to have been able to bring my childhood back to life.

I look forward to sharing this space with you . .

If at 1st you don’t succeed…

Some days you have the best of intentions.. You might even have an inkling as to what you want to work on.. But sometimes it just doesn’t turn out right. We need to be OK with that. That way we can try again and and hopefully the next time it will come out closer to the way we want it.. And if it doesn’t, well you know the old adage… If at 1st you don’t succeed, Chuck it and try again.
